Full Beard Solutions is a consulting practice for small and mid-sized businesses whose operational software has become difficult to see clearly. The work is the disciplined production of a structural picture of that software, in a form the client owns, designed to serve whatever decisions the business faces.

The practice is run by Ryan Mertzic, based in New Jersey. The background that informs the work is ten years of senior development on long-lived business systems. The methodology described elsewhere on this site is the form that experience has taken: a way of reading operational software carefully enough that the decisions the business makes about it can be made with evidence rather than with memory.

The practice does not resell platforms or hold partnerships with software vendors. The independence is structural, not rhetorical. When a client's best path is to keep developing what they have, the recommendation comes from the evidence. When the best path is to migrate to off-the-shelf software, the same. When the best path is to rebuild on a different foundation, the same. The methodology supports whichever direction the work justifies. The practice is paid to do the work, not to point in a predetermined direction.
